It was shocking when the state filed suit against Huntington Beach and it smells of politics. I have lived in HB since '75 and we have built more housing and apartments in the last decade than I can remember. Instead of more huge houses in gated communities the development this decade was mainly apartments and condos multi-story blocks often on main streets like Beach Blvd or Close to the 405 and major shopping centers.

This had a huge impact on traffic so there was a shift in the City Council towards a slower rate of these big apartment blocks.

I spend a lot of time in the Bay area and they didn't have anything anywhere near the construction rate that HB had and we got the law suit and the cost of defense.

Next column on this subject, put in the statistics on numbers added per year over the last decade, both in absolute numbers and as % so we can what is going on. The last big one with lots of "low cost" units was close by and they added in a street to make the project larger. All those subsidized low cost condos went to the politically connected and highly paid public service employees (police and fire).

The Sacramento bitch seems to be not enough cheap housing on the beach for their kids.
