					<description><![CDATA[As a bicycle rider, I like bike lanes.  However, as a rational citizen, the transportation of all California cities is automobiles with public transit eating much of the money and carrying a few people (a few %). 

The government elite always wants to get me out of my car and be able to exert control over my travels.   As we watch China limit socially undesirable peoples access to trains and planes, it makes me wonder about our elite trying to set us up for the same social control.]]></description>

It&#039;s literally a 3 block stretch of &quot;downtown&quot;  (i.e. old town) Joshua Tree.  They took it from 3 lanes each direction down to 2.  See Google streetview for yourself if you like.

No indication of how the residents of JT feel about it.  It may reduce speeds along that short stretch and enhance safety.  I dunno.]]></description>
