Nov. 6, 2012

Katy Grimes: Election results are all over the place right now. I’ll update throughout the evening.

The thought to keep in mind is will the massive increase in welfare and other government entitlements impact this election?

6:30 p.m.: National election results:

President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney are tied at 153-153 electoral votes. But the key swing states aren’t even in yet.

Republicans keep the House.

But the news media keeps calling the state results too early.

In California:

— the polls are still open. it’s too early to call anything. Stay tuned.

Follow me on Facebook for quick updates: HERE

UPDATE: 7:45 p.m.

163 – Obama, 174 – Romney. But the news channels keep calling states too early and inaccurately. It may actually all come down to Colorado this election.

In the Romney campaign, they are saying it’s a very tight race. Florida less than 10,000 votes. Virginia close. Ohio close.

Nothing still for California.

UPDATE: 8:18 p.m.

FOX news just called Ohio for Obama, but with only 73 percent of the vote in, it’s too early. Remember the 2000 election.

UPDATE: 8:45 p.m.

Ohio is still too early to call. Many of the counties still haven’t reported. 4.4 million cast, 49.19 percent to 49.17 percent… It looks odd to count it over. Certain counties can go either way.

9:00 p.m.

Overall national total is nearly tied, with Florida, Virginia, Ohio and Colorado still reporting election results. No concession call yet.

Still, very little on California yet. Early returns on Proposition 30 are so far, inconclusive according to the Secretary of State.

There are too few of the precincts reporting yet to report anything on ballot initiatives.
