EastBayLarry, If you think that it’s Gov’t of we the people you are so wrong. It’s a Gov’t of we the money, Period, and if you are part of We the Money then you are also part of the problem. It’s no longer a Gov’t of We the People and hasn’t been for a long time. There is too much money being thrown at representatives for them to vote for the people. Until Lobbyists are thrown out of all levels of Gov’t it won’t change. Just because a person doesn’t claim one party or the other doesn’t really mean anything.

While all that may be true here’s all I know. My husband is in the Construction Industry. He is 54. RDA work is all his company has been able to get. No residential housing is hardly being built. No RDA work, no job, no house, no food, no clothes. Where is a broke 54 year old going to start over? The Construction Industry has already been decimated this will wipe it out almost completely. My husband says non union wages are back to 1970s levels. Who can live on that.

How does this article make me partisan, Fred? I am usually considered a conservative, and I am blasting the Republican Party and supporting the Democratic position here. This is the opposite of partisanship — I am criticizing my “own” side because it is violating a set of principles that I hold. Partisanship means supporting one’s party no matter what. Your argument is nonsensical as is your political prescription.

When will you partisan writers stop the shill job of writing articles like this and get down to the truth. We will not have a government of the people until we VOTE OUT every single politician in place today. Only then can we begin to get the attention of the very people we put in place to work for us. Our continued refusal to do this gives us the abusive government we deserve. Vote the Bums out or be ruled by them.

Redevelopment is using the force of government to steal.

Supporting the two bills to end Redevelopment would not in any way put the CA Republicans in jeopardy of supporting tax-extensions/increases.

Therefore, Mr. Greenhut is 100% correct in his analysis that the CA GOP has become the party that supports Kelo-type, non-Public uses of Eminent Domain.

The CA GOP has also become the party of supporting deficits through Redevelopment bonds which are done without voter approval. In 2009, Redevelopment debt totaled $94 Billion.

Many involved in trying to reform and cure Redevelopment issues such as Kelo-Eminent domain would not have dreamed of having a Democratic Governor propose the entire elimination and Republicans holding this at bay.

Well David from Oceanside, does that mean you are a democrat? Are you with some third party? Are you totally apolitical and just come here to make fun of the people who care enough to get involved?

If the state and/or the country fail, it will mainly be because people like Dave wanted to disassociate themselves from the responsibility of a government of We The People.
