Some people, believe it or not, actually come to dicussion boards to discuss the topics in the news. If you don't like that - don't read their comments - just stick to the vague comments with 15 words or less. Nobody here is forcing their ideals on you. So don't force yours on us!

"But Healthcare.gov and state insurance exchanges are still not clear how many enrollees have actually paid for the coverage."

Why is the government never quite clear about critical elements of ObamaCare that the survival of the program is absolutely dependent on to make it work -like how many enrollees are actually paying premiums to support the chronically sick that absorb a disproporational amount of our healthcare resources or the indigent population that get their health care treatment for free?

Why is it not possible to tell us what percent of the healthy 18-34 year old population have enrolled in ObamaCare? And of that population - what percent are full-pay customers versus heavily subsidized or freebie customers?

The undeniable truth is that the government has to force the healthy youngs ones who produce decent incomes to subsidize the sick ones and the poor ones. There is no way around that. Obama has to force them to buy a product that they might not need or want for ACA to survive. Any salesperson will tell you the difficulty of convincing someone to buy a product that he doesn't want or need. lol. About the only way it's possible is by use of force. Coercion. And when humans are coerced into buying something that only benefits other people - the resentment grows and people look for ways to circumvent the system.

Short of raising the penalties to $5000 or more, or throwing ObamaCare deadbeats into jail, revoking their driver's licenses and professional licenses for non-participation, how exactly could the gov gain their compliance? How do you force people to buy a product from a private company that they neither want nor need?
