“Subsidies?” Really? How is it that gas is $3.39 a gallon in Arizona, $3.25 in Utah, but $3.90 in California, but the oil company only makes about 8 cents on a gallon of gas? Your greedy RAGWUS propaganda is being exposed for the evil lying machine it is TCS. 🙂

I don’t believe he is in the tank for the oil industry. He sees it as a just another heavy industry that needs close regulation. Not an apocalyptic threat.

Fracking began on a massive scale in the 1970s. It was only when it become more efficient in recent years and changed the energy debate that enviros began objecting to it.

If it truly were the devil, then why didn’t they complain about it in the 1970s?

Example: Newsweek had an 1,800-word article in its Oct. 30, 1978, issue headlined “The New Gas Bonanza.” It placed fracking at the center of one of the big energy stories of the late 1970 — an unexpected boom in U.S. natural-gas production.

Where was the Sierra Club calling fracking horrible back then? Nowhere. Because greens didn’t care when it wasn’t efficient.
