According to CALSTRS 2012 actuarial valuation, the normal cost rate is 18.299% of wages.

Contributions for teachers who were hired before Jan. 1, 2013, will increase from 8% to 10.25% over three years, which puts them well over the 50% of normal cost.

” 90 percent of the cost of new CalSTRS funding” refers to catch up on the unfunded liability….entirely unrelated to the normal cost.

AB340 very clearly ” Requires new employees to contribute at least half of normal costs, and sets a similar target for current employees, subject to bargaining. ”

“Normal costs”, Mr. Reed. It is not semantics.

Teachers there get paid below 50k where housing and food is higher than Kali.

The student population is loaded with multi generations of welfare spawn who show up for baby sitting, beer bottle cap popping instruction and NFL farm team training..

Education in elite private schools is mandatory for developing the small amount of talent needed to manage the service economy.

Work ethic of locals is …..well……not.
