Chris-- I have NEVER understood the marketing PR side of the tea party? The party ideas at the start drew in democrats, independants and other unlikely folks. Then the strange costume thing and all of the tv coverage which of course we all expected and viola-- they look nuts!!!!!

Why can't Repubs rise up and straighten out AT LEAST the horrible image of this stuff?? It just scares off normal folks.

Chris--

Do you think DiMiao wore one of those Ben Franklin (tm) outfits at any tea baggy rally? If so the image could be quite fun out here? Just a thought.

Hey Chris-- While I am at this, do you dress up like one of the founders at these rally things?

My thought is this---- if you could build a time machine and take alot of these teabaggers and republibaggers and fellow travelers back to Boston in say about 1775, most of them would be straight up loyalists. Waaaaaay to afraid closed minded to put it all on the line in defiance of the King (tm).

Most of the Tea Party candidates, if elected, sell out to the 1% and to mainstream Republican party within their 1st year in office. You question me? Examine what 15 of the Congressional Tea Party candidates who ran on anti-Wall Street platforms and populist reform agendas did after being elected in 2010. Sold out to the Too Big To Fail banksters!

http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/05/21/484283/how-banks-bought-the-tea-party/

None of them are worthy of your trust. None of them. They all lie. Don't contribute any of your money to ANY politician and think 3 times before you give ANY of them your vote.

Even Rand Paul is turning mainstream Republican. Don't get suckered by any of them.

Until 3rd party candidates have a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected - this nation's political system is doomed.

Sorry Chris, but the Tea Party movement is not fundamentally libertarian, unless Lew Rockwell is your model. The Tea Party is nothing more than a contemporary repackaging of the fringe ideas of the John Birch Society.
