Oh stop it, NTHEOC. You are trying to justify what we did and there is no jusitication. Japan was down on both hands and both knees. Their army was destroyed. We had their island surrounded. There was an embargo on all goods entering Japan. It was over for them. Any honest historian would tell you that. And when Japan had no fight left in them we dropped 2 atomic bombs on their civilian population killing and maiming hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians – to include infants and woman. Real civilized behavior, huh? I sure wouldn’t want to be where Truman is right now. That’s for sure.

Yeah, and if your grandmother had a set of testicles she’d be your grandfather. Stop with the rationalizations please. Deal in facts.

Oh call them whatever you want, NTHEOC. War is war regardless what you choose to call the other side. And we start most of the wars today. We didn’t do that back in the day. Wars started then we got involved. Today we are the agitators and the nation builders. How would you like it if a foreign invading army entered your town and started blowing up your neighborhoods with guided missiles. You wouldn’t like it, would you? Or started a war on a false pretext and then killed 400,000 of your fellow citizens. You wouldn’t like that, would you? Isn’t that terrorism??? The old Geneva Convention works just fine as long as everyone abides by the agreement and honors their committment. But when one side violates the contract (cough, cough, USA) then it’s not worth the paper it’s written on. Show some honor and respect for civility, NTHEOC. One day our nation will be on the losing end and you’ll cry your eyes out.

Well it’s about time we update the old convention! The conventions don’t work because many “wars” today are not being fought by conventional armies. Instead they are fought by “freedom fighters”, separatists, anti western groups, ethnic groups etc. who weren’t trained or educated in conventional warfare. Are these POWs?

Dropping nukes on Japan was wrong

Oh C’mon man!! To say that the bomb was the wrong decision would be to ignore what the strategists at the time were thinking. At the time, while the United States knew Japan was looking for peace, when the Allies issued the ultimatum to Japan at Potsdam, there was not a clear indication of Japan’s next move, so as far as America knew, the war would drag on. It’s easy to have 20/20 hindsight, but in the heat of the moment, it was certainly the right move to do. We’re allowed to judge now because it is now, not 1945. What if Japan or Germany bombed us before we bombed them? The alternative is much worse, and there are no options that would call for complete peace. The situation was us or them!! Just like post 911 timberrrrrf, it’s us or them buddy so I say slap away!!!

After the war the German soldiers held in US POW camps openly said that they were never physically tortured in our concentration camps. Even while the Germans massacred millions of jews. We were a humane nation. That was one of our trademarks. Dropping nukes on Japan was wrong, especially since negotiations were moving in the direction of a full surrender. We massacred hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians when it wasn’t necessary. Infants and women. That was not a proud moment in America’s history. The average American takes it lightly because it’s never happened to us. We’ve been protected by 2 oceans. But if anybody ever hits us with a nuke and takes out a major American city you would be singing a different tune, NTHEOC. Like most Americans, you are spoiled. You have no idea what war is all about. It’s okay if we bomb them. But it’s not fair if they bomb us. Right? This is the reason so many foreigners can’t stand Americans. The arrogance. 😉

After WW2 in 1940 all civilized nations signed onto the Geneva Convention to prevent things like US operated torture factories in Poland, NTHEOC. Either you are an honorable person who agrees that those CONTRACTS should not be violated and should be strictly adhered to. They are international LAWS, my friend. So you promote your country violating international laws? That’s the reason Putin called us a ‘lawless nation’. And he’s correct. It’s okay if we torture others, but it’s not okay if they torture us, eh NTHEOC? That’s the game you wish to play? Sorry, it doesn’t work out that way. Now when an American is captured by the muslims expect to get bamboo shoots shoved up under your fingernails and cattle prods on your testicles. What comes around goes around, pal. You can’t have it both ways. Either you are civilized or you are a savage. Pick one and then own it!!! 🙂

How do you know?? We also didn’t have the advanced open media outlets, communication, and modern day technology that let people know what was happening in actual time. Seems people of that time didn’t bother to butt in on our special ops or question our leaders,or demonize our CIA/FBI, or sympathize with Nazis. Hell we dropped Nuclear bombs and they supported our govt! That’s right, after the attack on Pearl Harbor we dropped fricken nukes! Same thing for 911, after that kind of attack there are no more rules and I wish every American had the opportunity to SMACK a terrorist upside the face!!!!
