I’ve worked Pro football games as security right near the cheerleaders. What you see there is a fraction of the work they do. They work their asses off in hours of practice and then have to work in bone chilling cold ( down to 0 degrees with wind chill) in places like Denver, Chicago, Green Bay, and New England for hours on end. They certainly are pretty but they are athletes too and get injuries like any other athlete. They should get paid a decent wage like any other worker.

The legislator is right and such bill should not even be necessary, because the sports franchises know well that the cheerleaders are not independent contractors. Independent contractors set their own wages and working hours.

I giggled when, in the midst of San diego’s fiscal crisis, I think it was in 2007, Marco had the balls to hand the city a $750k legal bill for his ‘services’ in litigating against said city. A case he lost, btw. But those who live by the code of extreme legal chutzpah have to be over the top. But anyway, this is a shout to the San Diego state delegation. I predict one of you will someday be governor-then who knows? The U.S. Senate? The presidency?
