That's the purpose of making more bike lanes. They want the public to get acclimated until they can't live without it and then for license, registration, insurance, etc. I don't know why people can't see that's coming. It's the same game being played over and over.

Pay 500 bucks for license annually. Have proof of insurance. Pass driver test. Fine these rascals for going through stop signs and red lights. Excise tax of 20 percent on bike parts and tires. AND BIKE WEIRDO ATTIRE.

That is the start.....

This is great, they are planning on TAXING and REGISTERING ALL Bicycles on an Annual basis now right?? They are also going to Require Mandatory Annual Safety Inspections and of course we need all those bicycles Registered and Licensed. I think $100 TAX at purchase and an Annual Registration of $100, plus an additional $50 to purchase a Bicycle Operator License from the DMV every 2 years, MANDATORY INSURANCE also, they must have Liability Insurance for the squirrel they might kill, his family needs compensating. After All shouldn't they be required to PAY for those lanes?? We CAR OWNERS Paid for ours.

Several well used 2 lane each way roadways in San Pedro have been modified to 1 lane each way with a very wide bicycle lane. Traffic has slowed to well below the posted speed limit and turning into say a supermarket or mall, thru the bike lane is a problem. But few or no bicycles are using these bike superhighways. Adding teenyboppers' on powered skate boards will be interesting.
