Sen. Yee indicted on corruption charges
This just in, from the Mercury-News:
SAN FRANCISCO — State Senator Leland Yee has been indicted for public corruption as part of a major FBI operation this morning in the Bay Area, according to ABC7 news.
A San Francisco police spokesman said the FBI is serving multiple arrest and search warrants this morning, but said he had no knowledge of a Yee arrest.
ABC7 reported one of the searches is taking place at the San Francisco Chinatown office of the Gee King Tong Free Masons and is linked to the arrest this morning of Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow.
The FBI was seen at Yee’s Sacramento office, where they reportedly arrived at 7 a.m.
Targets of the raid are expected to appear in federal court in San Francisco this afternoon.
Lee has been running for Secretary of State.
