Tom Steyer impeachment push sets him up for Feinstein challenge

Veteran California Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s bid for re-election could prompt a challenge from a second fellow Democrat – San Francisco hedge fund billionaire turned activist Tom Steyer – who also believes she’s insufficiently opposed to President Donald Trump.

California Senate President Kevin de León, D-Los Angeles, has campaigned across the state in the month since announcing he would challenge Feinstein, who at 84 is the oldest U.S. senator and who has been blasted by progressives for saying in August that it was possible Trump might end up being a “good president.”

On Thursday, de León, who is 50, won the endorsement of four Democratic supervisors in Feinstein’s home town of San Francisco – Jane Kim, Hillary Ronen, Aaron Peskin and Norman Yee.

That came four days after the Sacramento Bee posted a scathing piece by columnist Marcos Bretón that declared that white San Francisco Democrats acted as gatekeepers blocking the ascension of talented Latinos like de León.

“For all the self-congratulatory proclamations of California as a progressive haven, the state is not as cool as it thinks it is,” Bretón wrote. “The traditional paths to power in California have been closely guarded by a Bay Area pecking order heretofore off-limits to Latino candidates.”

National TV ad sends name recognition soaring

But Steyer is coming off an even better month than de León – thanks to an unprecedented political maneuver that’s sent his name recognition soaring and prompted excitement from progressives.

Steyer paid for a $10 million national ad buy for a commercial in which he personally urges Americans to support his effort to impeach Trump.

“Donald Trump has brought us to the brink of nuclear war, obstructed justice, and taken money from foreign governments. We need to impeach this dangerous president,” he somberly intones in the ad.

Steyer, who is 60, told Politico on Thursday that more than 1.9 million Americans had signed his online petition calling for the president’s ouster and that he was so heartened by the response that he would spend another $10 million to air the ads.

While Steyer has also shown interest in running for governor next year or even president in 2020, leading a push for Trump’s impeachment seems an ideal start for a run against an incumbent Democratic senator accused of being soft on Trump.

Footage of the August event in San Francisco in which Feinstein made her remarks would make for potent primary attack ads in a state in which Democratic delegates at a May party convention gleefully chanted “F— Trump.”

That intense sentiment is hard to square with Feinstein’s remarks to a crowd at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco: “Look, this man is going to be president, most likely for the rest of this term. I just hope he has the ability to learn, and to change. And if he does, he can be a good president. And that’s my hope.”

Steyer’s impeachment push won him national attention even before his ad campaign began. An Oct. 11 New York Times story noted how the prolific Democratic fund-raiser had sent a letter to every congressional Democrat’s office and to the party’s Senate and House campaign committees urging them to make a pledge to impeach Trump central to their 2018 campaigns.

The story noted that while impeachment was very unlikely because of Republican control of Congress and the view of many Democratic leaders that it was an energy-sapping distraction, polling showed 70 percent of Democrats nationally backed impeachment.

The Times account also noted Steyer’s unsubtle dig at Feinstein in his letter: “It is clear for all to see that there is zero reason to believe ‘he can be a good president,’” as Feinstein said in August.

Steyer like all communist demorats can’t stand to be upstaged by a Republican. Trump is not really a Republican which makes the establishment Republicans fight him too. And the demorats fight harder since Trump is not part of the DC Swamp. At least Feinstein and others are starting to understand that Trump is REALLY for the people and not just BS that comes from the demorats just to get votes & power. From all the recent revelations about the DNC, HRC, Lynch, Comey all should be in court for high crimes against the USA. In fact, I think the demorat communist party should be abolished for Treason.

“Tom Steyer believes Dianne Feinstein is insufficiently opposed to President Donald Trump”
So, that’s a requirement for a Demwit to run for office now? Is this where the phrase, “The Party’s over” comes from?

So 70% of Democrats in an unscientific online poll favor impeaching Trump? Big deal.

Consider: When Obama was in office, such an online poll of Republicans asking the same impeachment question about Obama could well have generated the same 70% “yes!” response.

It’s meaningless, except the press runs with the results as though it was:
    1. “The will of the people.”
    2. Germane to the reasons for — or likelihood of – Trump being impeached.

Hedge fund management is not a an atribute to becoming a senator!
Tom Steyer is a far left communist, even farther left than Feinstein though it’s hard to believe that is possible!
I would not vote for him under any conditions, California needs political leadership that favors American citizens and Americian ideals, not champions for illegal want-to-be immigrants!

If Tom Steyer “green energy champion”, why hasn’t he donated solar panels to Haiti or Puerto Rico? He would rather try to defeat Trump instead of helping people.

The “Impeach Trump,” cheer leading from the narcissistic left, like the Russian conspiracy theories, is nothing more than a means of saving face after their abject humiliation in 2016. They fail to realize that in order to impeach someone there must be an impeachable offense (a high crime) which “I just don’t like his orange pallor,” isn’t. And they must have a super majority in Congress, which they clearly don’t have nor ever will, so GIVE IT UP liberals.

I’d like to comment on corruption by the California Attorney General’s failure to investigate a formal 75 page complaint on the LAPD Crime-buster Vigilante Facebook scandal matter. This is a serious matter as the Los Angeles criminal justice system skews when it comes to fair justice for all as LA homeless are attacked by LAPD supported vigilantes, then arrested and jailed if the try to fight back in self- defense. Now there is proof of “jury trial rigging “by LA Prosecutor and LAPD Slo for Topanga. Both are members of the secret vigilante Facebook group, and 2 other Vigilante group members as witnesses for a bogus littering trial where Van Nuys Judge Harmond seems to play along by issuing an extreme sentence. LAPD command now spreads disinformation saying LAPD members only posted insults to homeless when the truth is LAPD supplied tracking and other info to vigilante members. The info was used to do violent crimes and community terror stalking onto targeted homeless victims. A homeless advocate and activist for LA political reform was harassed then convicted and incarcerated for months when he was attacked on 12/29/16 in Van Nuys by the same LAPD crew. False police reports were used and judge Mulcahy Van Nuys court prevented the mentioning of vigilante abuse at trial. This happened to Ed Ryan [email protected] who had to flee LA after release because of more vigilante harassment by LAPD connected crews. Ryan’s jaw was smashed by a vigilante attacker wielding a hammer and LAPD refuse to take his complaint and investigate. Ryan now lives in Mass as LA Court court issued a probation violation warrant to further silence him. LA superior Court Presiding Judge, Kevin Brazile has so far ignored Ryan’s comprehensive complaint. Ryan challenges reporters to read the 8/1/18 complaint to Atty Gen Becerra that has plenty of screen shots of captured vigilante and LAPD postings to surely warrant the Cal AG to investigate, but he remains silent on the issue. Also remaining totally silent on this atre LA Mayor Garcetti I’d like to discuss Corruption in Los Angeles as the LAPD Crime-buster vigilante Scandal is being ignored and all LA city Councilors. LA City Atty Furey also is silent even though his long time Deputy Karin Philips is involved and is being reported to Cal BBO flor ethical violations of not disclosing vigilante group membership by entire prosecution team in People v Kevin Perelman , the van Nuys Superior Court jury trial in front of LA Superior Court Harmond that was rigged Atty Philips and LAPD SLO Dines

Deval Patrick Inspired Obama and Obama Inspired the Nation
Deval Patrick, the architect of Obama’s empowerment, now igniting “Audacious Hope” by running for President. Deval Patrick was a Governor promoting the social good. His Bain Capital experience of investment banking for social and community enhancement supports him enlightened leader who understands the rational path to one global democracy. Instituting “Reformed Capitalism” in America ending the present system that allows elite oligarchs to preserve a fractured global system that diverts resources to a military industrial system while billions are forced into utter poverty. Oligarchs in every country now protect their system, a dehumanizing socio-economic system for the many while the few prosper. They force weapons and war while people suffer and starve. Bloomberg and his Oligarch ilk of Trump, Bill Gates, Musk, Steyer and others need to be stopped from corrupting our democratic process by purchasing political power. Americans are outraged that their government is being bought by Billionaires and ultra-rich. Right now, three quarters of the US Senate is owned by oligarch multi-millionaires. The entire Supreme Court and the Executive branch owned by the rich. Americans can and will Amend the Constitution to Out-law the oligarch rich from buying political power. Deval Patrick should utilize the` tenants of “reformed capitalism” “Reformed Capitalism” is about re-creating the American economic system to allow wealth for all and not just the few. The forced ending of concentration of wealth by ‘income capping” and redistributing wealth by radically increasing the money supply and massive expansion of housing by government construction. No longer can “Protestant Ethic” be allowed to hinder, Wealth needs to be established for the poor and disenfranchised by creating public banks with liberalized credit. We can and will put sustainable solid income into the hands of those people heretofore denied. Modern technological improvements radically increase American and global production ability to prevent inflation. Derval Patrick is the architect of Obama Audacity when it comes to the future. Third world infrastructure modernization by global production by power houses like China, Russia and America will pave the way for a future “ to Global Democracy” The 5th Street Emporium” a J.Bond-Austin Progressive Think tank is issuing the ”2020 Global Collective Consortium Strategies” There is a way to provide good lives to all global citizens. In a world with no “military industrial Complex” all resources and production go to the people. The ruling elite Oligarchs in every global country stop “One World Government”, Oligarchs enforce filthy rich power that kills millions and exterminates a good future for global citizens, Sick with greed they will use mass murder of war and poverty to “rational evolution” towards a global “one world government”. Bottom line, Deval Patrick can lead in that direction by becoming president so that oligarchs like Mayor Bloomberg and Bill Gates can be stopped from their power grab. If any of these oligarchs truly cared about humankind, they would check out the 5th street Emporium’s 2020 Report at [email protected] Helping the world beyond exposing California based corruption in the refusal to investigate and prosecute by California Attorney General, Becerra as he is a failed leader protecting Los Angeles Court Corruption by LAPD torture of LA homeless by LAPD Crimbuster Vigilantes.
