Meridith Whitney ranks Cal worst fiscally

Business guru Meridith Whitney ranks California worst for its fiscal condition. Texas is tops:

Whitney says California is the worst of the bunch, with the largest budget gap, and dramatically increased spending. New York ranks poorly for having the highest tax burden in the land, per capita.

The best state, by contrast, is Texas, which is “a very low-government state, anti-government state, so government spending is low.”
