No ‘global warming’ for 16 years

Can we cancel AB 32 now?

The past 16 years have seen the most intense industrialization the world ever has seen. China has become a global economic powerhouse, surpassing Japan to become the world’s No. 2 industrial nation. It soon will challenge the United States for the No. 1 position.

India also has surged, as have Russia, Brazil, South Korea, and dozens of smaller countries. Japan has continued strong. And the United States, despite stagnation in many areas and a long recession, still is growing.

But guess what? New numbers show there has been no “global warming” the past 16 years. Reports the Daily Mail:

“The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.

“The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.

“This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.”

Yet California’s global-warming law, AB 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, remains as the “solution” to a “global warming” crisis that doesn’t exist. It cuts greenhouse gas emissions in the state by 25 percent by 2020. It’s also supposed to inspire other states and countries to adopt similar measures, and to create jobs.

Gov. Jerry Brown brands as “deniers” anyone who questions whether or not “global warming” — since rebranded in Orwellian Memory Hole fashion as “climate change” — even exists.

Yet no other state or country has adopted anything like AB 32. And it’s a jobs-killer, not a jobs-creator.

In January, as part of AB 32, the state imposes a new Cap and Trade program to auction evil carbon credits — a socialist scheme ripe for fraud and abuse.

A sensible state would repeal AB 32.
