Maviglio tweets against Duffy global-warming article

April 10, 2013

Steve Maviglio, the California Democratic activist, tweeted about Warren Duffy’s article on our site, “Facts cloud CA global warming alarmism.

Maviglio:

“Glad to see @CalWatchdog still in denial about #climate change. Where can I buy your #wayback machine? #AB32.” [Links in the original.]

He did not point out this Duffy line, “Add to that more research showing the globe has not warmed in the last 15 years, and one begins to wonder if AB 32 is out of step with 2013 climate reality seven years after it was signed into law by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.”

The link goes to an article in the Economist magazine, which is run by liberals and long has boosted the climate-change meme. The article says:

“OVER the past 15 years air temperatures at the Earth’s surface have been flat while greenhouse-gas emissions have continued to soar.”

And note that Maviglio referred to AB 32, whose official name is the “Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.” But he did not refer to “global warming,” which has gone down the Memory Hole. Instead, like President Obama, he now refers to “climate change.” That way any anomaly in the weather, real or imagined, can be used to increase government control over our lives.

He also used the word “denial,” from the self-help and 10-step movements. As in, “After being in the drunk tank the 10th time, he’s still in denial that he’s an alcoholic.” And, “Denial is not a river in Egypt.”

So we’re at CalWatchDog.com supposedly addicted to our skepticism about global warming/climate change.

This is just a technique to shut off debate.

And let’s reproduce the graph I included in Duffy’s article, showing global temperatures the past 2,000 years.

.
Global temperatures history
.
The graph clearly shows the
Medieval Warm Period, when temperatures were higher than today — even though there was hardly any industry to speak of. Yet the Vikings sailed to a place so fertile they called it “Greenland,” which today mostly is a frigid wasteland it’s so cold.

It’s not puny humans that mainly influence global temperatures, but the sun and the core of the earth. Of that I am not in “denial.”
