Jerry Brown's quote of day

Brown on debt and the “nonexistent” Soviet threat:

“The national debt waits like a hungry tiger to pounce on President Clinton’s new programs. Despute urban despair and ecological disaster, Congress won’t appropriate money even when it’s clearly needed. Yet Reagan got hundreds of billions of dollars for a military buildup against what now appears to have been a nonexistent threat.”

–Spin magazine interview between Jerry Brown and Noam Chomsky, August 1993

    What a laugh!
The “hundreds of billions of dollars for a military buildup” was what ended the threat.

What is the point of this and why are you not doing the same thing for Meg Whitman and Steve Poizner?
