CalPERS is following us!
Not exactly sure why, but CalPERS is now following us on Twitter. This surprises us, mostly because we had no idea the state’s Public Employee Retirement System even knew that the social media site Twitter existed, or that they’d have fun and interesting things to say in 140 characters or less.
Boy, were we wrong, as these sample tweets clearly show:
Jan 25: “Board Chair Feckner: Gov’s comments on pensions a “cropped picture of the facts that begs a broader view.”
Jan 20: “CalPERS CIO on investment portfolio: “Last year was a wild ride for all investors, but we finished very strong”
Jan. 14: “CalPERS President on Crist: “This disclosure will be reviewed with the same vigor as the rest.”
Don’t those just give you chills? I mean, what other government agency do you know of that uses words like “wild,” “vigor” and “cropped?” Anyway, click here to follow CalWatchdog on Twitter. Click here to do likewise with CalPERS.
