Legislature approves $50-per-month diaper benefit

40198b6d-7846-4805-af81-2373c5e2c629Low-income Californians could soon receive a monthly, $50 benefit for diaper purchases, according to a bill approved by the Legislature on Tuesday.

The monthly benefit would be given for each child two years old or younger, with a requirement that the money be spent only on diapers.

The benefit would not begin being awarded until 2020, and is expected to cost around $14 million to $18 million annually as part of the CalWORKS welfare program.

Legislative analysis estimates that 26,000 children would currently qualify.

The measure heads to Gov. Jerry Brown for a final verdict.

Lenin would be proud of California Dems, especially Governor Moonbeam’s relentless pursuit of wealth redistribution.

I’m from Cal State and your first sentence is offending, nevertheless I agree this diaper benefit is unnecessary, why not just lower taxes or increase the earned income tax benefit?

I reckon we can call this the “pantload” bill.
Conceived by a bunch of ‘pantloads’ in the legislature to pander to a bunch of tax grazing, blind voting ‘pantloads’ in the D-Rat plantation in exchange for their votes. The entire bill is a load of crap actually.
No doubt it will be signed by the largest ‘pantload’ in the history of the state, Jerry Brown whose last name pretty much says it all about thid bill and his legacy of total destruction to the golden state over four terms.
That said, upon reflection, this might be the most significant bill passed by the current ‘pantload’ legislature in this session.

Well at least Teddy Steals will be getting 50 bucks a month for for his ‘Depends’ diapers.
And now that they’re free, jeez, I hope they decide to change them more often at the ‘home’ where he lives.

Better payback if this was condoms, super sized for the BLM crew, very very small for the Cinco de Mayo hombres.
