The tip of the Obamacare iceberg

One of the biggest reasons for ushering in Obamacare, are the thousands of groups around the country which will be making money off of the government health system. Many in these groups are Washington D.C. insiders, and the politically well-connected, who had access ahead of passage of the Obamacare Affordable Care Act, and seized the opportunity for a little wealth-building.
One such group appears to be Young Invincibles, “a national organization representing 18- to 34-year-old Americans on the issues of affordable health care, employment and college affordability.”
Read the fine print, and the Young Invincibles website also says, “Young Invincibles is a national organization committed to mobilizing and expanding opportunities for young adults between 18 and 34 years of age on issues like higher education, health care, and jobs.”
Its website, Healthy Young America, claims to be part of the group’s outreach. “In some places, Young Invincibles will also serve as a state-funded navigator for the Affordable Care Act.”
Ah, now I get it.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are practically throwing money at groups interested in being Obamacare navigators. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced “Funding Opportunity Announcement on the availability of up to $54 million in cooperative agreements to fund Navigators in Federally-facilitated or State Partnership Marketplaces,” the CCMS website says. “The Affordable Care Act requires Marketplaces to establish a Navigator program to help consumers understand new coverage options and find the most affordable coverage that meets their health care needs.”
Reach out for the handout
And to drive home this “outreach,” Jennifer Mishory, deputy director and a founding staffer of Young Invincibles, wrote a recent op ed for the San Francisco Chronicle about the new insurance exchanges and Medicaid options under Obamacare. Mishory said these health exchanges “will make affordable coverage available to millions of uninsured Americans.”
The subtitle in the story told a slightly different story, and perhaps the one which goes to the heart of the true purpose of Obamacare: “The health care mandate takes effect soon, allowing people to compare and buy policies, but many people are unaware of available subsidies and Medicaid coverage.”
Obamacare is really just a giant wealth equalizer, and conduit for government subsidies.
Mishory said The Young Invincibles will be serving as a “state funded navigator” for the ACA.
Young Invincibles
According to the Young Invincibles website, Co-Founders Ari Matusiak and Aaron Smith, and a few law school friends created Young Invincibles “motivated by the recognition that young people’s voices were not being heard in the debate over health care reform.”
Only Ari Matusiak isn’t just your average entrepreneur — Matusiak works for the Obama Administration as Special Assistant to the President and Director of Private Sector Engagement.
Matusiak also served as a fellow on Senator Edward M. Kennedy’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions committee.
And to think that Martha Stewart went to prison for insider trading…
Funding for Young Invincibles
“YI is fiscally sponsored by the Center for Community Change, a longstanding organization committed to building the power and capacity of low-income people across the country,” the website says.
The Center for Community Change is a scary, far left group, reminiscent of ACORN. Even the address on the Young Invincibles website says:
Young Invincibles
c/o Center for Community Change
1536 U St. NW
Washington, DC 20009
I looked on both Charity Navigator and Guidestar for ‘Young Invincibles’, and ‘Healthy Young America’, but found nothing.
However, their funder, the Center for Community Change came up in Guidestar — claiming to be a “community organizer.” The IRS form 990 showed the group to have a $12 million to $14 million yearly budget, made up of grants and contributions. The CCC said its mission is “to build the power and capacity of low-income people, especially low income people of color, to change their communities and public policies for the better.”
The Center for Community Change pays its community organizers well. The director makes more than $200,000 annually. And the five other administrative directors draw salaries of $134,000 up to $163,000.
The group spends a great amount of money on travel, offices, employee benefits, a pension plan, and spends $700,000 up to $1 million on lobbying.
They gave numerous grants to the Alliance For a Just Society, a politically-left group, focused on health care, immigration, and social and economic justice.
Government health care – the buck starts here
Even the Department of Health and Human Services offers opportunities to get government money with their offer to “Learn about available grants to assist with implementation of various aspects of ACA.”
“Search grants.gov for information about funding opportunities related to ACA including Health Information Technology (HIT) and other areas,” the HHS website says.
This is just the tip of the Obamacare iceberg. These groups are often inter-connected, and exist solely to fund other politically-left justice groups.

This s*** never ends. The community organizing….the use of tax dollars to fund leftist groups.
I just want to throw up.
I clicked on Matusiak’s White House bio link. To the right are bios of other “key staffers”. For example, there’s a “Director of Online Engagement for the Office of Digital Strategy”.
Not to be confused with the “Associate Director of Online Outreach for the Office of Digital Strategy”.
Or the “Public Engagement Liaison”.
There’s no real governing going on. It’s all just marketing. That’s what this Presidency is, and always has been. Marketing Strategy and Tactics 101. From the ever-present teleprompter to the stagecraft of carefully- arranged useful idiots that serve as backdrop to every speech.
More upchucking.
ObamaCare is the biggest heist on Americans in the history of our nation. And it will a willful heist from the very start. There is nothing mysterious about it. I warned many people. They laughed at me. As they laughed they told me that I was a doomer. It’s not so funny anymore. Is it???
Obama told us it was no tax. LIE! He told us if we made less than $250,000 that we would not have to spend an extra dime for ObamaCare. LIE! He told us that there would be no health care insurance mandate. LIE! He would that ObamaCare was equitable and that the fat cats would not profit from it. LIE! He told us that ObamaCare would lower costs. LIE! He told us that we could keep our own doctors. LIE! He told us that everyone would be treated the same and that there would be no exemptions for the corporations. LIE!
My suggestion is for everyone who is healthy to pay the penalty which is less than buying a health insurance package. Then, since no one can be excluded or denied, if you get a bad sickness that you can’t pay out of pocket, sign up for ObamaCare. Do it as you’re flat on your back in the hospital. This is what I predict millions of wise Americans will do. As with everything else, we’ll find a way around the madness.
ObamaCare will add an infusion of money into the bankrupted government and into their sugar daddy corporatists and all the parasites who feed off both.
The ones who will get severely abused are those in the working middle class who make just enough not to be entitled to an insurance subsidy. You are the ones who will finance healthcare for all the welfare recipients and the illegals.
You have one of 4 choices. (1) Throw you arms up and join the welfare class. (2) Go Galt. (3) Move from the State of Californa (4) Accept your place as a walking ATM machine and pay up your dues.
Pick one.
A coffee shop employee will get about a $300.00 per month health policy, a family $1500.00 per month….
Don’t choke on your day old glazed donut. Your premiums must be paid plus the 80-180 percent increase anticipated plus a variety of those pesky new taxes and fees.
Not being critical….were is all this money coming from….hello?
You both are so totally right!
Defund this piece of crap!!!!
Keep it cheap until everyone is signed up then send them all to the gulag for re-education.
Interesting take
Is it “fair” you pay $550.00 per month for a 5k deductible policy and 20% copay while the coffee shop employee does not pay cent for anything? Hmmmm.
You guys are so sharp– you too Katy! This taking care of the poor is a bunch of cr–. This will never work. We’re doomed. And then there’s the pension payouts after calpers rips thru the 267 billion they now have, then there’s the state budget, then the train thing….ohhhhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
LOL
Carry on Doomers!
ObamaCare is the largest tax imposed upon the America public in the history of our nation.
Enjoy and pay up!!!
Your community organizer and civil rights law professor advocate loves you!
Collapse man—- That is nonsense of course. Cite our authority besides, glenn, rush or Hannity…..lol
